The John Curtin Gallery celebrates the work of four major Western Australian artists and Curtin University alumni – Paul Caporn, Susan Flavell, Tarryn Gill and Pilar Mata Dupont.

Collectively, their work has won prestigious awards, been commissioned for public spaces, acquired by leading institutions and featured in major art events around the world. All four are being acknowledged through ‘PORTENT’ as part of Curtin University’s 50th Anniversary celebrations this year, commemorating Curtin’s inception as WAIT, the Western Australian Institute of Technology in 1967.

Caporn and Flavell are premiering works created for this exhibition while Gill and Mata Dupont are presenting their collaborative video work Gymnasium, which won the prestigious Basil Sellers Art Prize in 2010.
