2 February @ Perth Concert Hall ·
Presented by WA Charity Orchestra ·
Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” is well-known for its depiction of the sights and energy of Paris in the 1920’s. This performance will feature the work in its original setting, rarely heard worldwide since 1942. Tippett’s deeply moving “Five Spirituals” draw on the rich culture of African American music. Beethoven’s monumental “Symphony No. 9” is world-famous for its use of the memorable and delightful melody commonly known as the ‘Ode to Joy’.
Under the direction of Samuel Parry, the WA Charity Orchestra and Choir will join with the remarkable voices of guest artists Harriet Marshall, Caitlin Cassidy, Henry Choo and Thomas Friberg, making this event an unmissable experience.
The WACO Choir and Orchestra are volunteers dedicated to creating great music and making a difference in the community. Knowing the power music has to brighten lives, they regularly perform for residents and patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
