Free workshops for professional medical and health practitioners.

Develop visual language and refine communication skills through close observation of artworks. Ioana Vlad and Janice Lally will guide participants to become more comfortable with ambiguity and develop reflective practice through the exploration of art and its meanings in the exhibition HERE&NOW18 Besides, it is always the others who die. The workshop is designed to enrich empathic skills while enhancing social and cultural awareness.

Dr Ioana Vlad MD FACEM, is an Emergency Medicine Physician, Clinical Toxicologist and co-Director of Emergency Medicine Training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, WA.

Dr Janice Lally PhD (History and Philosophy of Science) is Curator of Academic and Public Programs at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery.

Professional Development Workshop for Teachers: Stockyards and Saddles

Educational Kits in relation to the exhibition Stockyards and
Saddles: A story of Gibb River Station are available.

Part A addresses Humanities and Social Science (HASS) learning areas relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues. Part A of the kit is suitable for students K-12.
Part B addresses contemporary Aboriginal artists who use photography as a medium. It will challenge Years 11 and 12 visual arts and photo imaging students, tertiary students, as well as those in VET courses.

Led by educator Erin Knight, attend the Professional Development workshop for teachers using these kits, directly after the Curator’s Talk and Tour.
