15-22 July @ His Majesty’s Theatre.
Presented by West Australian Opera.

A runaway hit of its period, Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow continues to charm today with some of the most recognisable music in opera, including the “Vilja Song”, “You’ll find me at Maxim’s” and the “Merry Widow Waltz”.

Directed by Graeme Murphy, this production of The Merry Widow combines the beauty of the music, the glamour of the setting and the effortless charm of the storyline to seduce the audience – much like the characters on stage seduce each other!  A comedy of manners with money as its secret, motivating force, The Merry Widow deals with couples in love, misunderstandings, evasive declarations and, finally, a happy ending.
