The Russian Resurrection Film Festival has kicked off with monthly screenings of films at Event Cinemas.
Seesaw has THREE double passes to give away to see this month’s film, Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears, at Event Cinemas Innaloo, Sunday 29 September at 3.30pm.
Made in 1980, Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears is regarded as one of the most prominent Soviet Era Films which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. Since then, it has become a part of Russian pop culture, with it being quoted in any given situation. The film illustrates the story of three girls who come to Moscow and befriend each other in their dormitory. It follows their loves, dreams, wishes and careers. Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears is an uplifting story that provides a realistic insight into the struggles faced by women in the Soviet Union.
The screening is a part of a series of film screenings The Russian Resurrection Film Festival will present at Event Cinemas over the next few months. Each month will feature a new Russian blockbuster aimed at introducing audiences to films they’d not likely see anywhere else.
The Russian Resurrection Film Festival is one of the largest, oldest and most respected film festivals outside of Russia. Running across October and November in capital cities all over Australia (25-30 October in Perth), the Festival aims to bring the freshest, most ground-breaking Russian cinema to Australian shores.
