After decades of discussions, a national architecture competition attracted more than 60 entries to design a new Town Hall for the city of Perth. This result was Council House, now acknowledged as a heritage jewel which brought Perth into the Modernist age as the international spotlight shone on the city. This free exhibition reveals the story of the competition, the controversy, and shows unique views inside the building using historic documents, films, and the latest 3D scanning.
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, excluding public holidays, till 17 January 2020.
Special opening on 15 November 2019 till 8pm as the Christmas Lights Trail opens.
Also participating in Open House Perth 2019, November 16 and 17 2019.
